Chanel Couture by Archemede Seguso 1960s Glass Chain Necklace and Earring Set
A very rare and special collectors set, this Archemede Seguso Chain necklace and matching earrings were designed exclusively for Chanel.
Archemede Seguso was one of the most celebrated and influential Venetian glass artists of the 20th Century.
In the late 1960s Seguso was invited by Coco Chanel to create a collection of glass jewellery for the brand to be released with their couture garments. The glass curved links are designed to resemble the interlocking C's of the Chanel logo. None of the pieces created for Chanel include any Chanel logos or insignia, however they are very well documented and highly collectable.
Made in Venice the pieces are constructed from links of lilac and blue hand blown glass with gold metal spacers and clasp.
